October is drawing to a close, and with only a month left until provincials, it’s time to shake things up with a good ol’ costume race. Halloween is almost here, and that means one thing. Pumpkin Cross!
Pumpkin Cross – Oct 30
It’s time to break out your costume and head to the Maple Ridge Equi-Sport Centre for some festive fun. Pumpkin Cross is back! This race is always a blast and this year is shaping up to be a good one. Plus given the amount of rain we’ve been experiencing this fall, there is some great mud potential. Last year the relatively flat course ended up being a total mudfest. The weather is looking on the brighter side for the weekend, but I’m not sure that’s enough to dry things out. Either way it will be a great time.
Last year’s conditions:
As a bonus, Liv is hosting a women’s cyclocross clinic on the Saturday:
“We are all about inspiring more people to ride bikes, so we’re offering a special clinic and registration special for first-time racers in the Beginner Women’s category. Have all the fun you possibly can at Pumpkin Cross 2016 for only $20 + $10 one-event license/insurance! Plus, your registration includes a basic cyclocross skills clinic aimed at novice women riders the day before the race (Oct. 29th)!”
If you’ve always wanted to try cyclocross, this is a great race to make your first one.
The coveted best costume prize will be up for grabs, so get creative.
